Turn a horizontal video into a vertical one

Start from a vertical 1080×1920 sequence, drop in your landscape clip, and let Auto Reframe keep the action in the frame.

How to make a vertical video

  1. Click Start a vertical video. A 1080×1920 sequence opens.
  2. Import your horizontal clip and drag it onto the timeline. Right-click it and choose Scale to Frame Size if needed.
  3. Switch to the Effects workspace (Window › Workspaces › Effects, Alt+Shift+4), find Auto Reframe in the Effects panel and drag it onto the clip. Pick a Motion Preset and nudge Reframe Offset if the subject drifts out.
  4. Press Ctrl/Cmd+M (File › Export › Export), choose H.264 in an MP4, and click Export.
