Kiln makes professional creative tools free for anyone with a browser. The four apps run on your own device through WebAssembly, so your files stay private and nothing needs installing.

Built on open source

Kiln's apps are modified builds of four open-source projects by the ArtCraft team, used under the MIT OR Apache-2.0 licence:

• Kiln Photo is based on PhotoCraft.
• Kiln Vector is based on VectorCraft.
• Kiln Video is based on FilmCraft.
• Kiln Motion is based on EffectCraft.

Kiln is independent and is not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by the ArtCraft team. Improvements we make to the engines are offered back upstream. Licence texts and third-party notices ship with each app.

Privacy

The editors run locally. Files you open are read by your browser and are not uploaded. Preferences and auto-save data are kept in your browser's storage on your device.
