Sharpen a blurry photo
Sharpening can't invent detail that was never captured, but it can rescue slightly soft shots and make resized images look crisp.

How to sharpen a blurry photo
- Click Sharpen an image and open your photo. Unsharp Mask opens.
- Start with Amount 80–150%, Radius 0.8–2 px and Threshold 2–4 to protect smooth skin and sky.
- Zoom to 100% to judge the result. Halos around edges mean the radius is too high.
- For noisy photos run Filter › Noise › Reduce Noise first. Smart Sharpen can also counter slight motion blur.
Good to know
Badly out-of-focus or heavily motion-blurred photos can't be fully fixed by sharpening.
