Illustrator saves .ai files with a PDF inside by default, and Kiln Vector opens that with editable paths, text and colours.

How to open it
- Click Open an AI file and choose the .ai file.
- Edit what you need.
- Export SVG or PNG with File › Export, or save PDF/EPS with File › Save As.
Good to know
AI files saved with PDF compatibility turned off can't be opened outside Illustrator.
