Convert PNG or JPG to SVG
Many 'converters' just wrap the bitmap in an SVG file. Image Trace actually redraws it as vector shapes you can scale and edit.

How to convert
- Click Trace an image and open your PNG or JPG.
- Choose Object › Image Trace › Make… and pick a preset, then Expand.
- Choose File › Export › Export As SVG….
Good to know
Tracing works best for logos, icons and flat illustrations, not photographs.
